A report just released shows that less than 25% of people in the UK showing Covid symptoms are requesting a test, with only half say they are fully self-isolating after symptoms develop. Legal requirement means that UK residents must self-isolate for 10 days if they have Covid, starting from the onset of symptoms or, if no symptoms, from the day of a positive test result.

Yet in a recent study, responses from the Covid-19 (Corsair) study, created by researchers from institutions including King’s College London, Public Health England and University College London and published in the BMJ, suggests that people are not following the guidelines.
In the survey, that took place between 25 and 27 January 2021, 50.8% of participants identified symptoms including a cough, high temperature or fever, and loss of sense of smell or taste as signs of Covid, yet only 22.2% of those with Covid symptoms in the past seven days said they had requested a test.
Only 51.8% of those with recent Covid symptoms, who had not tested negative, said they fully adhered to self-isolation – meaning they did not leave home in the first 10 days after their symptoms began. Yet 71% of respondents said they intended to stick to self-isolation guidelines.

症狀，例如咳嗽、發高燒及失去味或嗅覺等症狀，但當中只有大概百份之二十，在過
去七天曾有此症狀的人仕會要求進行檢測。
